Velux 2014 onwards solar kitset
Velux solar kitset for Velux GGL/GGU solar windows. If your solar velux has stopped due to low voltage or is completely dead then Velux will only sell a 'kitset' that replaces the motor, solar panel and battery pack, we used to be able to get a similar battery but these have been failing after 6 or 8 months and velux have stopped selling that battery now too. We have had a lot of feedback from customers opting to buy the cheap Chinese copies and they seem to last about 2 - 3 months, some fix the issue but of late its been more solar panel issues than batteries.
If your window is stuck open very slightly then please get the release tool ZZZ 267, do not force it as its still attached to the motor T piece and you will snap the bar!
To remove the solar panel you have to remove the plastic cover panel next to it first, simply prise the bottom edge up off its sticky tape (lift it about 10mm) then slide it to the left, you can then do the same with the solar panel, if your window was converted to solar using a KSX 100K then you won't have the cover panel, just a small 10mm end cover which you swap to the new panel. The motor has 5 torx type screws in, remove these and pull the motor out. installation is a reversal of this. we do offer a service to install this, southern counties only. call for costs.
