When your velux solar or electric window is stuck slightly open, you need a release tool to disengage it from the motor chain T piece, if you force it then you can either break the bar or the T piece, we sell the T piece under electrical spares if you have broken it!
This stainless tool will slide in the small gap and allow you to pull the spring holding clip back to release it from the chain. You can then perform a reset and pairing on the motor and if it fails due to no power or battery failure then you can unscrew the clip and fold the chain to allow you to securely shut the window. The tool will come with measurements that show you where to insert it as it is really hard to see through the gap!
If the velux solar or electric window has stopped working then with the window released you can press the reset button on the motor for 10 seconds, if the solar window is 2014 onwards and it does nothing then you may need a kitset to replace it, pre 2014 the batteries are available, both under spares then electrical spares. If the window is electric then it may be the power supply or sometimes the fused spur can be accidentally switched off, its recommended to get an electrician to test the transformer input and output supply, it is more common for the transformer to fail than the motor. Both of which are available under electrical spares on the website. If the motor starts to buzz back and forth then it may just need pairing with the remote. kli remote: push a paper clip in the 2 little squares logo hole for a second, then press the up button, on other remotes with screens a search for new products should pick it up again.
Note: pressing the gear cog button on the remote deletes the window from the remote, avoid doing this, the window motor will buzz to confirm, you then need to reset the motor again.
